Boogiemen take 2nd at Itchfest
The Boogiemen followed up their 1st place finish at Fall Brawl by placing 2nd in the Nashville Classic Itchfest tournament. Facing fierce competition from Auburn, these Tallawanda Crusaders marched into the finals after defeating a very skilled Auburn Team and avenging their day one loss to the Vanderbilt Relics, before fatigue set in and Vanderbilt walked their way into first place. This tournament was a great reality check for Miami, as the team realized if they want to compete at the higher levels, some conditioning might be in order. The Boogiemen are set to begin indoor practice Monday January 9th.
First Place at Fall Brawl
Despite the 20-30 mph wind both days in all different directions, the Boogiemen won their first tournament since Boogie Nights in 2009. Utilizing the outstanding veteran play and leadership and stand-out rookie performances, the 10th seeded Boogiemen won all 7 of their games including match-ups against Case Western, Kenyon and the number one team at the tournament which consisted of a group of highly talented Mad Cow players. The Boogiemen look to carry this momentum into the Cincinnati Classic October 29-30.

The Boogiemen
We started out in 1985 as the Preppies from Hell. The team was no where near as competitive as we are today. Apparently they just played games around campus and were more intramural than club. As it got closer to the 90s the team developed into a competitive team that traveled. As that transition took place, the team's name changed to Ritalin, as that was the drug of choice around Miami in the 90s. The team used a Grateful Dead logo to attract people and to sell discs around campus in an effort to make money. That team name stuck around until around 2004 when they changed the name to the Boogiemen. Starting in 2006, Miami started to make a name for themselves advancing to Regionals and making some noise. Then in the 08 Spring season, Miami finished 5th at Regionals, the highest finish to date for Miami ultimate. After losing most of the players from '08 regionals the following year, the Boogiemen are back with a whole new cast en route to another great regionals performance.
